Locker Cars

Kiera's new words this week: "doggie" and "Molly." Doggie sounds more like dah-dee; the first time she said it, she was carrying this large stuffed dog in her arms, and held it up and declared "dah-dee!" with a huge grin on her face. Molly comes out Mah-ee. Molly was skeptical. I got Kiera to repeat it and she conceded that it sounded a little more like Molly the second time.

Molly, meanwhile, asked us what locker cars were last night. There was a poem in the new Ladybug about locker cars and she was really incensed that neither Ed nor I could figure out what she was talking about. Hmmm, I think I'll put the answer behind the LJ-cut and let all of you try to figure out what she was saying. I'll give you a hint, first; we determined later that I was hearing an R where there wasn't one. She was saying lakah-kahs, not locker-cars.

Latkes. The poem was about latkes. Ed explained that they were a food made with potatoes and she said, "Could I try them sometime?" I said, "Molly, you've had them! Amah and Grandad made them for us last year!" She didn't believe me. Her timing was good, though; we'll be having locker cars over at my parents' house probably this Sunday.
