Last November 1st, she decided that she wanted to dress as a Christmas tree this Halloween. We worked on that costume today. On a more humorous note, she decided some time back that when she grows up, she wants to have eight babies. I fully expect her to change her mind about that at some point, but the number has not budged yet and probably will not for a while.
Tonight she asked to go for a walk after dinner. We do this sometimes, partly as an incentive to her to get all her toys picked up before dinner. Usually if she asks to go on a "night walk" it's very short -- around the block, or some similar distance. Tonight, though, she calmly informed Ed that she wanted to walk for two and a quarter miles.
Ed takes the girls on long, long walks on the weekends, but Molly gets to ride in the jogger for those. Two miles is a really long walk for a four-year-old. We shrugged and said fine, we'd give it a shot, figuring that she'd back out, though Ed brought the stroller for Kiera instead of carrying her. We ended up walking for two and a half miles, and yes, Molly walked the whole way herself. In fact, she ran the last three blocks of it, even though she was getting pretty tired (and was willing to admit it, at that point).
I am impressed.
