Let me just get some Tabasco sauce
Jan. 28th, 2007 07:55 pm...to go with the words I am eating.
Last June, I noted in a post about American Girl dolls that Molly wanted a Samantha doll. These dolls are $87 each.
joxn suggested that she might be able to save up for one. My response:
She gets $1 a week.
She is not saving up for a doll.
She started saving in August. She also squirreled away her dentist money (she gets a $10 bribe for cooperating during dentist visits; she has terrible teeth, so cooperation during drilling and filling is critical) and the money she got from the tooth fairy when she lost her first tooth. In the last six months, I believe she's spent 50 cents on a gumball, once. Tonight she got her allowance, had me help her count the money, and then triumphantly handed me $87.
Samantha's been ordered.
Edited to add: since I mentioned her awful teeth, I feel compelled to mention that she bought the gumball even though she was not allowed to chew it, and knew that when she spent the 50 cents. There's a park building near us that has a gumball machine that's set up to look like a pinball machine. It's pretty nifty. Anyway, she spent 50 cents, played pinball, and then gave the gumball to Ed.
