Space Aliens
Sep. 21st, 2007 09:05 amSo, there was a really bad storm last night during dinner. We didn't go to the basement, but we kept the radio on. It got bad enough that I ran down to the basement to get out a folding table and chairs, so that we could move downstairs if it got any worse, but at that point, it started getting better. Within about fifteen minutes, it had settled down enough that it was merely rainy, so Ed sent Molly to shut off the radio.
She came back to the table, and a minute later we all heard a very weird noise. My first thought was that it was the tornado siren. My second thought (echoed out loud by my mother) was, "no, that's not a tornado siren, it sounds more like space aliens." A moment later we all realized that she'd turned on the CD player when she turned off the radio, and it was playing the first song on the CD that was currently in there -- Planet Claire by the B-52s.
Aside from the storm, Molly had a pretty good birthday. Her special birthday dinner was sashimi.
