Melanie is safe

My father called Maureen, Melanie's mom. Melanie is fine. She could, as it turns out, very easily have been on one of the trains that got bombed, but she was running late today. When she arrived at the Underground station, it was closed, so she hopped on a bus. Made it a ways into town before the buses were all closed down as well. Started walking home, stopped at a McDonalds for something to eat, and found out then what had happened.

My parents were actually in London this time last week, near the area of one of the bombs; they returned to Madison on Sunday.
