I haven't been posting much here because my real life has been so busy. On Wednesday, for example, I went to a chiropractor appointment (in yet another attempt to fix my still-ongoing knee problems) in the morning, and then took the girls to a dentist appointment in the afternoon, followed by the library, followed by Walgreens to buy Kiera a mask because she felt her Halloween costume would be incomplete without one. (She's dressing as a princess. Instead of a mask she picked out a headband with sparkly red devil horns. I told her that the sparkly red headband meant that you were supposed to be bad, and did she wish to dress up as a wicked princess for Halloween? She said yes. So, a wicked princess it is.) The chiro appointment was in St. Louis Park; the dentist appointment, in Vadnais Heights. Both girls had cavities and will require additional trips to the dentist. And so it goes.

Also, our tub grout's seal broke so the tub was leaking when we took showers, which is really not a good thing, so I spent today scraping out grout and then putting in new grout. Since I'm not particularly good at projects like this, two trips to the hardware store were required. There would've been a third (to buy more caulk because I ran out of the stuff) but they closed at five and I realized I was running out at 4:55. I made do with what I had, cutting off the spout of the tube of caulk and using a chopstick to push out the last little bit.

The caulking gun was a real pain to use. It was very difficult to get the caulk out. This was silicon caulk; I am pretty sure I've used a caulking gun with another kind of caulk with less difficulty. My hands hurt like heck after squeezing out caulk for an hour.

Every project ever undertaken requires at least two trips to the hardware store.

Yeah, I made two trips to the h-ware store myself today (but for 2 different projects - does that count?).

Re. caulk guns: I've found that the gun itself can make a big difference. I used to fight with the old one my dad gave me for years; then I dropped a little more cash and got a better one, and it's *much* easier now. Not that you probably care now that you're done, but it's something to keep in mind down the line.

No cavities so far with our guys, but I'm pretty sure Cameron will get some before it's all said and done. That, or scurvy (you think it would kill him to have some fruit or juice now and then...).
