Molly sat down this evening and wrote some Happy Hollisters fanfic.

She renamed them the Happy Helloisters. She may need to think a little further outside the box if she really wants those serial numbers filed off.

I had no idea that the Happy Hollisters were still a Thing! Does she have your old books, or did she stumble over them at the library somehow?

I bought a stack of old Happy Hollisters for my oldest sister on eBay, for Christmas last year. Boy, was she thrilled. My equivalent dream Christmas present would be a nice pile of Cherry Ames books.

Oh: and any chance that you can convince Molly to let you post some Happy Helloisters?

I found a dozen old Happy Hollisters books at a garage sale for $1 each. Someone had previously recommended them in one of my "what the hell should Molly read now?" threads, and she gravitates really strongly towards children's books of the 1950s and 1960s -- she loves the Bobbsey Twins and Trixie Belden as well.

I bet she would let me post her fanfic. This was very short; she explained that she was going to write more, maybe an entire series.

It does my heart good that there are kids out there reading Bobbsey Twins and Trixie Belden books. Even better that Molly is engaging enough with her books to want to fic them. (Hannah is only just beginning to grok fanfiction, but her ideas mostly concern Jack Sparrow....)

I remember writing fan fic as a kid. Not until I was 9 or 10, though.

I looooved Trixie Belden! But have little desire to read them again as an adult.
