I went to the release party at a local bookstore last night with [livejournal.com profile] springbok1, and saw [livejournal.com profile] hilarymoonmurph's daughter Cassie dressed up as Dobby. I was resolved not to read at all when I got home, because I knew I'd wind up reading until 4 a.m. if I did. In retrospect, I should have gone ahead and kicked back with the book -- I don't know if the Butterbeer at the party was caffeinated or what, but I didn't fall asleep until around 3 a.m.

I spent the day reading and finished the book a little before dinner time. So now I can read LJ and message boards and the newspaper again without fear of spoilers, which is a relief. Also, I have to be really careful not to let anything slip, since Ed wants to finish reading HBP before he sits down with Deathly Hallows.

I'll probably post some commentary on it in another day or two, behind an LJ-cut.

I wish I read faster. I read through most of the weekend to finish it...but I did. Now I just have to hold my comments until [livejournal.com profile] starherd reads it! I just hope this doesn't take as long as with the previous book or two!

I had just closed the 6th book literally five minutes before the UPS guy arrived with Deathly Hallows. I had done a complete reread of the series...

And now have finished the 7th. (at 7am on Monday - funny reading times in the book that correspond with times in real life...)
