Thank You In Advance For That Cookie
Dec. 4th, 2004 12:08 amWhen Molly was about the age that Kiera is now, one of her favorite words was "dat doh," which she would say when she wanted something -- she'd make little grabby motions with her hand and say "dat doh, dat doh, dat doh" until someone gave it to her. Ed and I interpreted the word as "thank you," except with the variant meaning of "gimme."
Kiera has started using the exact same words in the exact same way. Except that she points, rather than making the grabby gesture.
Oh, and she wanted a cookie. (We have Chocolate Creme Oreos in the corner cabinet. Did you know that Chocolate Creme Oreos were dairy free? It took me over a year to figure this out! Regular Oreos are also dairy free, but apparently mini-Oreos are not. Go figure.) I didn't let her have one because it was almost dinner time. At this point I'm not sure whether she gets madder when I can't figure out what she wants, or when I know what she wants but tell her that she can't have it.
