Sparky shoes downstairs.
Be gentle my bracelets.
Play Legos with Molly.
Go Health Club.
Shadow's butt hurts.
Look, a doggie!
I saw a bird.
Hold Marin's hand.
My sparkly shoes are dirty.
Don't kiss me! Kiss Molly now.
I like lunch.
Call Daddy now!
Go see Amah.
Sit in lap too!
Want lemonade too.
Pull up diaper yucky. Yucky pull-up diaper. Sit on potty now.

She says lemonade as "ehmade." Sparkly shoes are pronounced "sparky shoes" -- they're the pink glitter shoes from Target, which apparently are reasonably comfortable, since she rejected all the other shoes I've tried to put on her but likes these just fine.

She is remarkably polite. She says please a lot, and if I do something for her she will usually say thank you.

Arena Sale

I may have mentioned this last year, but quite possibly the single best rummage sale in the world is held in Minneapolis each fall, a few blocks from my house. Minnehaha Academy (at 46th Ave and 42nd St) holds a rummage sale in their hockey arena. What makes this sale special is not the quantity of goods (though that's really quite impressive) or the bargain prices (though they're mostly excellent), it's the insanely detailed, anal-retentive categorization. If you want to look for leggings for your kid who wears size 6X, you don't have to sort through a heap of children's clothes: you can go to the pants-that-aren't-jeans section of the Girls 4-6X clothes table.

The find I was most pleased with: I found this really gorgeous girl's dress-up raincoat/jacket. It's hard to describe, but it's beautiful, it's in like-new condition, and I paid $5 for it. It's a little too big for Molly but will fit her next year, I think (and it might fit her this year -- she didn't try it on).

Molly's apathetic response to the haul (even the Halloween-themed leggings, which I'd thought she'd be really delighted with) was explained when I took her temperature. She's sick and has a fever. I gave her some lemonade to drink, since she likes lemonade and I figured I should push fluids. She drank it, then promptly threw up. Go me! Sigh. The popsicle stayed down and she had some Jell-O for dinner later on, but she had a really miserable day.

Anyway, if you're in the Twin Cities, the Arena Sale will still be going tomorrow (Saturday). Everything will be half price, and the various departments will switch to bag sales throughout the day. There are also always a bunch of other garage sales in the neighborhood on Arena Sale weekend; I'd thought I might take the girls out garage saling, but Molly clearly was not up for it. I hope she feels better tomorrow. I hate seeing her so miserable and sad.
