Birthday Madness II
Sep. 24th, 2006 10:15 pmKiera's birthday was Monday. Molly's birthday was Wednesday. Their party was today. So I basically spent this whole week baking cake, frosting cake, cleaning up from baking or frosting cake (it's much messier when the two kids help, and of course getting to help bake their birthday cakes is part of the fun of having them), cleaning the house for the party, shopping for party supplies, and planning the party.
Today everything was pretty much ready. Molly bounced out of bed at 7 a.m. and asked what time it was. She asked again 15 minutes later. And again 15 minutes after that. And so on.
The party was fun and everyone seemed to have a good time. My parents and sister came to help out, so we had about one adult for every two kids, which was a good ratio, particularly when they were bashing the pinata (I know I need a ~ over the n, but I'm not sure how to put it there) with a stick, as you need several adults just to keep the excited kids from crowding in so close they get hit on the backswing. The kids actually ate the cake this year, instead of just licking off the frosting and leaving everything else.
I am tired.
