naomikritzerI know Laurie and Deb by way of WisCon. Laurie is the author of the Elemental Logic books, and Deb has run a recurring panel on building your own home office (out of space in an unfinished basement, garage, etc.) that is both useful and inspiring. Deb has been in poor health for years due to a genetic condition, and now she needs a liver transplant. The good news is that the liver transplant will fully treat the condition. Her brother is willing to donate a piece of his liver to her, but he's uninsured and lives on the opposite coast; this auction is to raise money to defray some of the uncovered expenses.
