Award Eligibilities
Jan. 9th, 2012 11:16 amAt the risk of being hilariously slandered by Jim Hines' awesome goblins I thought I'd put up a list of awards I could hypothetically be nominated for. I had two short stories (both under 7,500 words) published in 2011:
"Isabella's Garden," which appeared in the August issue of Realms of Fantasy.
"What Happened at Blessing Creek," which appeared in the August issue of Intergalactic Medicine Show.
I think in theory my previously-unpublished self-published short stories from my two eBook collections would be eligible but c'mon. AS IF.
Neither of these stories is currently available on the Internet. If you are eligible to nominate for an award, and planning to do so, feel free to e-mail me or leave me your e-mail address (mine: my_firstname dot my_lastname and I'm on gmail) and I'll send you a Word file of the two stories so that you can decide whether you think they're worthy of your nomination. (Just, you know, don't feel morally obligated to e-mail me back and apologize for the fact that you read a lot of better stories in 2011. I'd rather blissfully assume everyone who reads my stuff thinks I'm a genius.)
I also have a story ("Scrap Dragon") in the January/February 2012 Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction -- this won't be eligible for the Hugo until next year, but I think Nebula nominations for it can go in right now, if you want. Anyone who wants to read it free can get the "Kindle Digest" version here. If you don't have a Kindle, you can get a free Kindle app for any iGadget or Android phone or for your PC or Mac and read it that way.
