More on the eye saga
Apr. 20th, 2005 11:10 pmSince I'm sure everyone wanted an update on the eye thing:
Molly got up this morning and said her eye felt fine, so after consulting with our eye clinic over the phone, I did not make an appointment for her to be seen. Instead, we agreed that the next time this came up, I'd have her seen as quickly as possible by an actual eye doctor. At 3 p.m., she started complaining that her other eye hurt. So I called the clinic again, and they said they'd see her, so off we went. Of course, they were working her into an already-full schedule, so we wound up waiting for over an hour to be seen. I'm not complaining, because I really appreciated that they were making the effort to get her in, but it was exhausting, regardless. The opthamologist said that there was no abrasion, no sign of a sinus infection, and if it's allergies, they're not bad enough to make her sniffle. She gave us some samples of artificial tears to try.
On an entirely different issue, has anyone had patello-femoral syndrome? How did you get over it, if you ever did? The inability to squat and stand up again without temporary excruciating pain is remarkably inconvenient when you spend your days with a toddler. I found some information on strengthening exercises (for the quadriceps) and stretching (for the hamstring) and have been doing them, but it doesn't seem to be helping. Yes, yes, I know, I need to go to an actual physical therapist. But this week has been so crazy that I have not yet managed to call Simon Delivers and ask them to pick up the green crates that are decorating our front lawn, so you can imagine where "schedule physical therapy" has landed on my list of priorities. ("Post to blog" has the advantage of being something I can do at 11 at night.)
