I'm thinking about trying to update this more often. For a long time, I posted about my kids' interesting new tricks (walking! talking! jumping on the bed! mouthing off!) on LEGACY, which is a VAX-Notes based bulletin board for Carleton alumni. (VAX Notes. Remember VAX Notes? Yes! It's still out there!) Trouble is, it's gotten less and less interactive as fewer and fewer people use it.

However, in order to actually use my LiveJournal semi-regularly, given my tendency towards extreme long-windedness, there's something I would need to know: how to insert an LJ cut. I currently use one of the free LJ clients to post (I used the web interface but I lost a bunch of postings that way). Do I insert something in HTML? Standard HTML angle brackets, or square brackets, or what?

Does anyone still check my LiveJournal?

I love to read your writing

on lj or in paperback! (I've give copies to your novels to friends as presents and we're all really happy I was friends with Abi in college who told me about your books.)

to do a lj cut, type lj-cut text="blahblah" and /lj-cut using the little less than/greater than symbols whose names I forget to let it know that it is a command.

*jumps up and down, waving* Me, me, I'm checking! My husband [livejournal.com profile] mmerriam and I sat on the DS9 panel with you at CONvergence, though we first saw you at panel(s) you did at Minicon 2003, I think.

Oh, and if it helps, Here's the FAQ info on using LJ cuts (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=75).

Cheers!

Yes, since I put you in my friends list, any time you post an entry, it magically appears when I go to my friends posting. One thing I like about LJ - I can keep up with what people are doing, if they post, anyway.

Yo. Definitely reading the journal (it's on my friends list) not to mention Freedom's Gate, a few weeks ago.

Not only do I still have your LJ on my Friends list, but I also respond to your entries . . . sometimes. :-)

I would read what you post.

And I'd love to continue to be able to hear about your kids' antics. :)

I check it--you're on my Friends list. I would read whatever you posted: writing... kids... insights on how one manages to find time to write after having kids... etc.

Freedom's Gate was just lovely. My only complaint is that you should've blogged about it back in June... I've been trying to stay away from the evil temptations of the bookstore, so I didn't run across it until July. ;)
