Kiera uses two-word phrases now quite consistently; she comes up with her own, as well as repeating things she's heard other people say. Some phrases I heard today: More oatmeal. Hello, Molly! Here you go. More orange juice. All done. More pasta. All done truck. Light on. Light off. Choose book. Bye bye, Daddy. Goodnight, Molly.

She still relies significantly on the single words, not surprisingly. Up. Water. Kiss. Kitty Cat. Doggie. Birdie. Outside. Open. Close. Glasses. Swing. Suit. Shoes. Socks. Pajamas. This. Na-na. Walk. Blanket. Hot Pocket. Banana. And, of course, Noooooooooooooooooooo. And the ever-popular anxious little whine-noise, "eh eh eh eh" if I'm not giving her something she's not quite sure how to ask for. She requested orange juice today, then got really mad when I put it in the wrong cup. She knew the right cup was in the dishwasher (she saw it when I opened it up) so she stood next to the dishwasher pointing at it and making her urgent little noises until I came back and showed her the orange juice in the other cup, at which point she shrieked "nooooooooooooooooo!" and increased the volume of her "eh, eh, eh." (I put it in the prefered cup. Yes, I'm a pushover.)

She's also hit the "parrot" stage (I remember Molly doing this) where she'll repeat back to you practically anything you say, unprompted. "Do you want to play in the sand box?" "Sand box!" "Look, it's a spider." "Spider!" "It's raining." "Raining!"

Finally, she sings/recites, though you have to know what you're hearing in order to figure out what she's saying, I think. She sings Ring Around the Rosie (and has for a while); also today, she responded to Ed or Molly saying "a womp ba ba loo bop" with "a womp bam boom," or some reasonable facsimile. She also sings "badger badger badger" and there are at least a few other things I sing to her that I've heard her singing.

I was thinking yesterday that if I had to estimate her words, I'd say that she has about a 500 word vocabulary at this point. But I'm really not sure, and if pressed to list 500 words, I probably couldn't, in part because there's no way I can actually remember everything I've heard her say.
Oh, one other thing. When she wants me to sit down, she'll try to push me over to a chair. She'll lead me by the hand until I'm close, then grab me around the legs to try to maneuver me the rest of the way. I find this funnier than I probably should.
