Soft-Shell Crab
Oct. 28th, 2005 08:26 pmWe took the girls out for dinner at Sea Salt, which is a fish and seafood restaurant in the park pavilion by Minnehaha Falls. It opened in the spring or early summer, and this was our third visit there. The food is wonderful (if you like seafood and fish -- if you don't, well, they've got hot dogs and brats) but it's not a fancy-restaurant sort of environment, and thus we can take the kids along. Molly and Kiera love seafood -- Molly had a crab cake, Kiera had the shrimp cocktail, and they both poached so much of the fried catfish we bought a second portion for them.
Ed and I each bought an order of the marlin tacos, plus we bought the catfish to share, and a soft-shell crab sandwich to share. Neither of us had ever eaten soft-shell crabs before. Holy cow, those were good. So good we're thinking about going back for lunch this weekend, simply because Sea Salt CLOSES for the season after Sunday. They'll reopen in April.
Does anyone know who else in Minneapolis or St. Paul sells soft-shell crab sandwiches?
