Big Girl Bed
Oct. 30th, 2005 12:39 amWe moved Kiera to a big girl bed tonight. It is a twin mattress on the floor: I've never really understood the point of a toddler bed. As an additional bonus, it's actually thinner than standard, so she will only fall a few inches if she rolls out of it.
Kiera was reasonably content in her crib, but she no longer fit. We never set up the full-sized crib for her, but bought a Pack-and-Play when she outgrew the bassinette. This actually worked really well for a long time: it was smaller than the full-sized crib which was very helpful when she was in our bedroom. Also, when we went on trips, we could just bring along her bed, no problem. However, I looked at her the other day after I put her in her bed and realized that she was longer than the crib was.
It has Dora the Explorer sheets. During stories tonight, Molly decided she wanted to lie down next to Kiera instead of in her own bed, which was very cute, if a bit counterproductive from a get-them-to-unwind-and-relax standpoint.
