Love You Forever redux

I've mentioned before that my kids like me to rock them and recite I Love You Forever before bedtime.

Today, Kiera decided that her stuffed mouse (which she think is a rabbit) needed to go to bed, so she sat down in one of the little kid chairs and rocked it, saying, "I love you for EVER, I like you for awways, long as I'm living my bunny you be." Then she gave it a kiss on the top of its head.

There is nothing quite like watching your child playing with their toys and mimicking your parenting. Molly at this age once tucked all her stuffed animals in and pretended to read them stories to get them to go to sleep.

Awww... how sweet!! Amber just turned 2 yesterday, and we gave her a little Dora doll for her birthday. She's starting to do the "Baby" thing and cuddle and snuggle with it, tucking it in to bed. Should be interesting to see how that develops when I get home with the baby this weekend!

That's very sweet. Unfortunately, here is how my parenting gets imitated:

"No, Lucinda, no pinching. That is NOT okay."

"I have told you and told you and told you a hundred times and I will not say it again."

"DON'T YOU EVEN DAAAAAAAAAAARE!" With a glowering face and pointed finger, of course.

Molly has also scolded her dolls and given them time-outs. I started to mention that in this post but then decided to go with the "sweet, upbeat story" option.

Watching her punish her toys is one of the many things that makes me very glad I'm not a spanker. It's cringe-worthy enough seeing her yell at them.

I have lost my temper and spanked Arie maybe three or four times, which is totally against my beliefs. And he endlessly threatens to spank his doll. It's really unpleasant, but I deserve it.
